What is collected, who collects it, and how to opt out.

This policy explains how [YOUR LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we", "us") handles information when you visit https://blog.heygrow.in. It describes what this site actually does — not a generic template. The site is operated from India and is read worldwide, including in the EU, the UK and the United States.

The short version

  • There is no account system. You are never asked to identify yourself to read.
  • We set no cookies of our own.
  • We do not sell or share personal information for money.
  • Our analytics is cookieless and reports only aggregate numbers — it cannot identify you.
  • Advertising is served by Google and does use cookies. That part is described in detail below, and it is the only part that involves tracking.

What we collect ourselves

Nothing you type, unless you send it

The site is a set of static files. It runs no code of its own on a server when you visit, and it has no database. If a newsletter signup form is active and you use it, the address you enter goes to our email provider and is used only to send that newsletter; every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

Analytics — Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which articles are read and how quickly pages load. It is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device, sets no identifier, and does not track you between sites or between visits. It reports aggregate counts — page views, referrer, country, browser family, and page speed measurements. We cannot single you out from it, and neither can we link it to anything else.

Hosting logs — Cloudflare Pages

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As part of delivering pages and protecting the service from abuse, Cloudflare processes standard technical information including your IP address, user agent, the URL requested and a timestamp. This is ordinary server logging performed by our host, retained by them for a limited period under their own policies.

Advertising — Google AdSense

This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. This is the only part of the site that involves cookies and tracking, and it is worth reading carefully.

  • Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure whether they were seen or clicked, and — depending on your consent and your location — to show ads based on your interests and your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use the DoubleClickcookie and comparable identifiers for this purpose.
  • We never receive, store, or have access to the personal data these networks collect. We see only aggregate earnings and performance figures. Their handling of that data is governed by their policies, not by this one.
  • If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent request before personalised advertising cookies are set. That request is operated by Google's certified Consent Management Platform. Your choice is recorded and you can change it at any time through the same interface.

How to opt out of personalised ads

Opting out stops ads being personalised. It does not remove ads, and non-personalised ads may still use limited data for frequency capping and fraud prevention.

Local storage — your theme choice

The site stores two values in your browser's local storage: your light/dark mode preference and your chosen accent colour. These exist so the page does not flash the wrong colours on your next visit. They never leave your device, are not cookies, are never sent to us, and clearing your site data removes them.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or the UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Our legal bases are consent for personalised advertising cookies and for the newsletter, and legitimate interests for operating, securing and measuring the site in aggregate. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

In practice we hold almost nothing about you directly — most requests concerning advertising data must go to Google, since they are the party that holds it.

If you are in India (DPDP Act 2023)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to access a summary of your personal data being processed, to correct or complete it, to erase it, to nominate another person to exercise your rights, and to a grievance redressal process. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it as easily as you gave it. Send grievances to the contact address below; we will respond within the period the Act requires.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising; use the opt-out links above to stop it.

Retention

We hold no personal data ourselves other than a newsletter address, if you give one, which is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics is aggregate and retains no identifiers. Hosting logs are retained by Cloudflare under their policy. Advertising data is retained by Google under theirs.

International transfers

We are based in India; our hosting, analytics and advertising providers process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where transfers out of the EEA or UK are involved, those providers rely on their own safeguards, typically Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Under the DPDP Act, processing children's data requires verifiable parental consent, which we do not seek because we do not target children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will update this page when what we do changes — in particular before adding any new analytics, email or advertising provider. The date at the top is the date of the most recent revision.
